Course Description
The abacus can be a fun and helpful way to learn addition and multiplication skills. The "nine bead" Russian abacus will be the primary focus of the class. The operation of the Japanese abacus (the soroban) and a "base six" bead abacus will also be discussed. Each participant will be given the abacuses at no additional charge. Students are encouraged to have their multiplication table memorized.
