My interest in art began as a child, inspired by frequent family excursions to L.A. museums and gardens, and lots of camping trips. Since my design degree at U.C.L.A., my professional creative experiences include residential and commercial interior design, commercial space planning, ceramic tableware design, and art instruction for all ages. My work has been featured in Bon Appetit and good housekeeping magazines, L.A. Daily News, and Boise Weekly. Also, decorating sets at Disney Studios and television commercials for General Electric, Vons, and Kraft Foods.

The Studio? In addition to creating my own art, I enjoy sharing the creative process with others. The Studio started in 2008 as a summer art camp in Studio City, CA where we entered through a back gate (get it?). Moving to Boise in 2010, Back Gate Studio expanded to include classes and workshops for all ages and abilities. Teaching after-school art classes at local schools, workshops and local venues, and all of the above at my home Studio, too...I love my life. Check out FB and IG: "backgatestudioboise"

My art? Being a fiber and mixed media artist, and surrounded by the stunning natural environment of Idaho, I can't help but incorporate nature's elements into my woven wall hangings. I create looms out of y-shaped branches and, lately, weave on even more unique objects...bicycle wheels, wood tennis rackets, farm tools, and old metal sprockets.

I hope my art is a way for others to enjoy nature while indoors, compelling them to spend more time experiencing the magnificence of the outdoors.
