| Rebecca Weeks | Rebecca grew up in Boise and has always had a passion for trash awareness: shopping at thrift stores, composting food waste in her back yard, and finding creative solutions to manage household waste. She's spent most of her life tromping around in the Boise foothills and feels at home up at the Ada County Landfill where she is Education and Outreach Manager. Rebecca graduated from University of Oregon, having studied English, Environmental Studies, and the Arts. She lived in Maine and started an organic farm with a team of Belgian draft horses. She returned to Idaho and worked for several Arts Education organizations, including DaVinci Charter School and TRICA (Treasure Valley Institue for Children's Arts). She is thrilled that her current work involves giving tours at the landfill and educating students and families about general landfill operations, environmental compliance, recycling, and diversion. Her major project is to open a landfill education center to enhance these efforts. |
