Course Description
A holobiont is a host (plant or animal) and all the organisms that live around, inside and on its surfaces (a microbiome). Plants and their tiny allies, such as bacteria and protozoa, work together to produce a healthy holobiont community that is capable of resisting diseases, pests and other stresses. Dr. Adam Cobb, a plant, fungi and soil ecologist will be a guest speaker and discuss the importance of holobionts and how to help them thrive in gardens, farms, forests, grasslands and other landscapes.
