Course Description
Two fun 4-hour classes! Learn beginning square dance. Dance from 10-2 with a break for a light potluck lunch, included in the price of the class (bring a dish to share if you'd like). Modern square dance is the adaptation of an American dance form involving 4 couples in a square formation, dancing to a specific sequence of steps announced by a caller. Square dancing combines music with motion and promotes physical, mental and social well being. Partners are welcomed, but not necessary. Participants will be invited to join us on Thursday evenings for a square dance where they can dance what they've learned. After completing the first two sessions, students will be invited to continue the class for four more sessions in order to learn to dance at the mainstream level.
