Dario Bollacasa was born and raised in Northern Italy near Venice. He has been a Boise area resident for five years. He is a Docent at The Boise Art Museum, and also has lectured at the Osher Institute at BSU.

Mr. Bollacasa holds a degree from Pratt Institute, and has done graduate work at New York University and the University of Milan. Mr. Bollacasa has also been a translator and interpreter for the Italian Consulate in New York.

He has spent most of his career in a high technology field. His career in business development provided the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe, North and Central America, South Korea and Japan. His leisure travel on land and sea has taken him numerous times to Europe, the Mediterranean Basin, the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean and the Mexican Gulf Coast. These destinations have provided the opportunity to hone his presentation skills and collect material for his lectures.

A recent endeavor is to develop a series of books for junior readers that combine history, culture and art of past civilizations. The first book: “There Was a Time When… Rome Was Ruled by Kings” was published in November 2009. A second book: "There Was a Time When...The Moors Ruled Spain" was published in 2013.
