Chris Cockrell attended North Idaho College and the University of Idaho. He holds an associates degree in mathematics, a bachelors degree in electrical engineering with minors in spanish and mathematics, and a masters degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on power systems and breath areas of control systems and mathematics.

He has taught electrical circuits courses while completing his undergraduate studies and spent four summers teaching at scout camps while attending college. He currently work as a planning engineer at Idaho Power Company.
