Janet Tweedle is a retired registered nurse with 44 years of experience. During that time, she was also a certified diabetes educator for 20 years, in hospital and outpatient settings. Her teaching experience included four years as a nursing instructor, and nine years teach in health professions programs in the Boise School District. Janet graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio with her BSN and MSN.

Janet is married, with two grown children and two grandchildren. Last year, her jack russel dog Cooper was put down. She managed his diabetes care and other common complications associated with his diabetes for 6 years, in conjunction with her veterinarian and several veteran specialist. She believes there is much she can offer for people faced with this pet diagnosis, who are making the difficult decision about caring for their animal or putting it down.
