John McDade learned to pipe from the Boise Highlanders through a Community Education class in 1994. Since then, he went on to form the City of Trees Pipes and Drums.

John has been teaching piping since 1999, and people he has taught are playing with the Boise Highlanders, Boise Firefighters Pipe Band, and City of Trees Pipes and Drums.
