Dawn Fowler

Dawn Fowler moved to Boise with her family at the age of 5. When she was 11, they moved to northern Idaho, where she lived until moving back to Boise in 1990. She married her husband in 1996 and helped raise his two children as a full-time stepmom.

Dawn has 30 years of experience in management and accounting/bookkeeping and has worked for multi-million dollar entities in the Treasure Valley, as well as run her own business. She also taught computer and computerized bookkeeping classes as adjunct faculty with BSU for a number of years at the Boise and (then) Nampa campuses and a variety of off campus locations.

So, why is she teaching an art class? Dawn has ALWAYS been an artist as well. She began drawing and painting and crafting at a very early age and never stopped. She has hosted booths at local craft fairs over the last 20 years and loves not only the process of creating something artistic; but sharing the benefits of the process of creation with others.

Because of this lifelong passion for arts and crafts, Dawn has tons of experience with different mediums, but she always gravitates back to paper, pens and paint. After a long career in management and finance, Dawn recently started an art instruction studio in her home and teaches a variety of classes through that business, Painted Willow Art (www.paintedwillowart.com) All of her classes are aimed at helping people discover their creative potential and teach them now to use art and crafts as a launching pad for whole life creativity!
