Rosemarie Schwarzenberger is an Idaho-certified Spanish teacher w/ Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Master’s degree in Bilingual Education & ESL; has lived abroad in Spain, Ecuador, & Mexico.

She has 20+ years’ experience, teaching all ages & ability levels in a wide variety of settings. She has taught at Boise State University, Sendero Institute, Academia de las Américas, local public & private schools K-12, Montessori & preschool programs

Rosemarie is raising her children bilingually. She loves languages and wants to become fluent in more than just Spanish and English. She has survival-level ability in German and French, and studied Latin in high school & college; She is currently working actively to learn Arabic.

Rosemarie says this about teaching: "So many times, students doubt themselves and their abilities. For me, the greatest joy and most gratification I receive as a teacher is when I am able to help students realize that they are capable of learning. This is the most important work a teacher can do, even more important than the actual subject matter—to help students realize that they can learn something new. I love working especially with beginning and intermediate students, because these are the students most vulnerable to doubts and most likely to give up on themselves. When they have a positive experience learning Spanish, they will want to continue their language-acquisition process. That is my responsibility as their teacher – to create an environment that allows them to acquire the Spanish language.”

She is in the early stages of launching a language school where students can learn a variety of languages, and where teachers can learn new ideas and practices to assist their students in acquiring a language so that their students can truly communicate. For most students eager to learn another language, their first goal is to communicate in that new language; studying grammar, writing compositions and translations, and reading the literary classics of that language are not their primary goal. While she is happy to assist students with these ongoing goals, the most important focus as a teacher is to first help students achieve communication. All students are successful, when learning to communicate is their first focus. The manner in which she teaches language classes makes it possible for students to achieve this goal. Students learn to speak and understand the new language they want to learn!
