Course Description

Many of us will need someone to help handle our financial affairs at some point.  If nothing is done to plan for this, a Conservator may have to be appointed by a Judge.  This practical course explores the options available in planning ahead for this possibility and avoiding the need for a Conservator. We will discuss Financial Powers of Attorney from both the perspective of the principal (the person granting the power) and the Agent (the person exercising the power). After discussing key factors, a sample Financial Power of Attorney will be provided.
