Course Description

Class will be taught via ZOOM. Instructor will email you the meeting code before class.

Religion is responsible for the progress of humankind when applied correctly and the source of strife when not. Students will explore the major world religions in a unifying framework that will make sense of them all. This class will examine the religions from the eyes of their adherents, offering that additional perspective. One evening is taken to examine Native American beliefs. The final evening explores prophecies, the surprising manner in which they are fulfilled, generally contrary to popular expectations, and how through prophecy we see the religions clearly anticipating the next and in divine harmony. World Religions covered (alphabetically listed): Baha'i Faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and to a lesser degree, Zoroastriansim. Native religion coverage includes Lakota, Haudenosaunee, Navajo, and brief mention of several others.

At the end of this class students will have an appreciation for many commonalities between all faiths and a greater appreciation that all come from the same divine source. Differences and disagreement are human inventions.
