If you are attending class at a Boise Schools location, a Community Ed site coordinator will be at the entrance to direct you to your classroom. NOTE: Please have writing utensils, paper and an open mind! Community Education classes MIGHT be cancelled due to inclement weather. Decisions will be made by Boise School District leadership regarding evening activities, including Community Ed classes. Course Description
This is an expanded version of the previously offered Let’s Talk About God class. Here, we are going to talk about God, but not a dogmatic conversation. We will use all of our tools: faith and reason, mind and heart. What is our concept of God? How has the way we have conceptualized God influenced all aspects of society such as science, philosophy, sociology and sprouted atheism? Is there a better view? What is God, Man, our interrelationship? How does He make His will known to us? Do we really have free will? Why do things in the grand scheme work the way they do? Are we just pawns in a great battle between good and evil or is there more to it? Can we prove that God exists? Spoiler alert: not sufficiently. But we can ask a better question. We can investigate the Messengers sent to us for our guidance and so we shall, with a perhaps shocking result.
This class will help us see the world in a new, brilliant, and hopeful light. Come armed with an open mind. This will be an exciting journey.
