MINDFUL MEDITATIONS

What to bring: yoga mat, pillow, blanket; eye mask; sketch pad, pencil compass; ruler; pencils, pens, colored pencils. Please wear relaxed clothing for comfort and easy to move in.

Course Description

Learn how to simply meditate.  This is a practice that can be added to your daily life. Meditation can help decrease feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and even the blues. Through daily practice, one will find more peace, love, insight, and inspiration for their day. We will discuss some techniques that can be used for meditation, and also preview a couple of breathing exercises.  

After a talk on meditation methods, class will go over the techniques, and then include one or two of the meditations. (10-20 minutes in total). 

Participants will have a choice to draw a mandala (any of various geometric designs symbolizing the universe; used as an aid to meditation), or sit quietly in a calm abiding meditation.   Instructor will have background music and/or nature sounds to help aid with the meditation process.
