Interested in learning about birds of the area, but don't know where to start? This workshop will help you learn to identify and appreciate our local birds. We will provide helpful background information as well as basic, bird finding tips and strategies.

We will take a short field trip to Kathryn Albertson Park so we can find some real birds! Kathryn Albertson Park is a 41-acre special use park located near downtown Boise. A haven for wildlife and quiet contemplation, the park features wide, paved footpaths and outdoor gazebos in a beautiful natural setting. The most easily spotted birds are ducks, geese, songbirds and herons.

We will be covering approximately one mile on smooth paved and optional boardwalk surfaces. Meet in the parking lot. There are five handicap parking spaces; three are van accessible. Unisex restrooms are available. Binoculars will be available to borrow (if you have these items, feel free to bring them), and the instructor will bring several bird guides to explore.

We will also be showing some great apps available for download (optional), so you may want to bring a phone/tablet on the first day.
