Heather Hepp was raised in Upstate New York and attended Wells College on Cayuga Lake. In 1993 she moved to Boise to raise her young family. Heather started blowing glass in 2000 with Pete Lanigan and Zion Warne, in Boise, Idaho. Glass quickly became a passionate interest for her.

The following year she acquired an apprenticeship at Zion Mountain Art Glass and loved working there with many glass artists for seven years. During that time she took classes at the Eugene Glass School with various artists including Randy Walker.

In 2011 she began working at Boise Art Glass with Filip Vogelpohl as an instructor in soft glass and in the gallery. Heather has a deep enthusiasm for working and teaching glass, which becomes clear in her classes.
