If you like fried chicken and sweet & sour sauce, then you will love Mandarin chicken. When the Vietnamese restaurant was first opened here in Boise, the patrons would ask for Mandarin Chicken, which is a Chinese-American dish with deep-fried chicken . The instructor's mom created her version of Mandarin chicken, and it was a popular dish at their beloved local Vietnamese restaurant. It’s prepared with chicken breast, deep fried in a special batter and cut into strips and topped with sweet and savory sauce with pineapple and served on a bed of lettuce with steamed or fried rice. Come learn all the secrets. It’s all in the sauce!
